The calendar says fall, but the weather still says July/August! We’re hoping for rain and cooler temperatures soon. As mentioned in earlier reports, the landscaper has removed some dead bushes planted this year and expects to plant new replacements in the coming two weeks if we get some weather relief.  The recent heat wave took its toll on the new plantings, which is why we need your help. When the HOA replaces a bush in front of your home, please do what you can to keep it hydrated until rain from Mother Nature can take over.

The pool season ended on September 15th, and due to warm, dry conditions, the pool saw a lot of use. Our thanks to Terry Dean and Towne Properties for the upgrades we have seen this season. Please continue to enjoy the other amenities, including the tennis/pickleball courts.

Something new this year that you’ll want to put on your calendar is our first annual “Lighting Party.” On Friday, November 22nd, we’ll kick off the holidays with a party when we illuminate the clubhouse. The celebration will include food and libations. Watch your TownSq App notifications for more details.

Thanks to all who attended the Town Hall last week. It was a great turnout and a spirited debate of the three resolutions. At present, 100 ballots have been received in the Crest and 35 ballots from the detached single-family homes.  It will take 75% of the total community to approve the resolutions.   Board Member Jeff Zalar is putting together an action plan and team to canvas the neighborhood, starting in October, to get out the vote.

The deck cleaning and inspections are complete. Ten decks have been replaced this year, and 14 more are already on the list for 2025. The ten owners of the new decks will soon be contacted to decide if they would also like their deck railings painted. The next annual maintenance of all units on the crest will be gutter cleaning, probably in November. The Board continues to look for ways to utilize maintenance to improve the appearance of the Crest. In addition to the decks in 2025, the Board is also in the process of selecting contractors for road paving, concrete, painting, gutters and landscaping. Several projects are currently planned, such as road paving on the upper end of Covey Run in the Crest along with painting and gutters on Cardinal Hill. These are all part of the five-year plan announced earlier this year.

Recent violations have involved parking on the street and other parking pad issues. The board reserves the right to have vehicles towed if an owner does act on the posted violations.  Please follow the rules so everyone can find adequate parking.

In our ongoing effort to streamline communications with Towne Properties, we will be removing the “Contact Us” page on ReserveofTurpin.com. Your direct link to Town Properties and the only link monitored by your board is your TownSq App, which can be installed on mobile and computer devices. While you still have the option to contact our community manager through voice mail or email, the board cannot guarantee the rapid response you’ll receive through TownSq. You can find a  90-second tutorial for getting started on TownSq at www.ReserveofTurpin.com.

Final thought: Please mail in your ballot if you have not done so already. If you’ve misplaced your ballot, we’ll get you another one.
